Reverse Lights

Does anyone else think that the reverse lights on the 4runner are really weak? I have installed lights under my rear bumper but they get in the way when putting a boat in the water or when off roading. I am considering trying LEDs in the place of the reverse lights to see if they will make them brighter. Anyone else done this? Any other options? Thanks

When you go to that page, it does not have the 921 bulb listed despite the fact that you searched for the reverse lights for a 2007 4runner. That confuses me. Thanks though.

:bash: :dammit: I think the brightest you'll find in the 921 size (T5) base will come from Home Depot/Lowes. There's an 18w bulb for Malibu low-voltage outdoor lighting. I forget if a 921 is 12w or 16w watts so it's only a minimal improvement. That's all I got, sorry.:biggrin2:

I've tried some 12 LED bulbs from superbrightleds.com and was very unimpressed - I think the stock bulbs were brighter. The reverse light housing makes LEDs look dimmer unless you are staring at them dead on. Kind of blah, and I'll probably end up changing them back soon.

What have yall done for aux lights in the back? Whitenight? Anything?

I have seen alot of folks with aftermarket roof racks add lights to the rack itself, facing backwards.... however I cannot recall ever seeing a non racked truck with em...
I guess you could drill two lights into the rear crossbar on the stock roof rack....but thats kinda ghetto i spose.
