Coil Springs Not The Problem

Replaced all four coil springs, sway bar + end-link bushings (front and rear), and still the same issue of residual bounce + side-to-side rocking. Coil springs were not "tired" after all, and still in good shape.

So this brings the source of the problem back to the Bilstein HD shocks I had previously installed. It seems the Bilstein HD shocks are about 2" longer than the 2001 Toyota OEM shocks, so this is the likely cause of a "floating" / "rocking" feeling.

These Bilstein HD shocks seem to be designed for the 1996-1999 4Runner OEM coil springs based on the other posting.

So, while there was some other improvements with these replacements, it was unnecessary.

I'll probably just purchase Toyota OEM shocks (front and rear) and resolve this the proper way.

Will sell the Bilstein HD shocks (with only 11K miles on them).

gpartners....did going back to the oem shocks and struts correct the problem with the rocking back and forth? I'm experiencing basically the exact same thing and just upgraded to bilsteins which helped but still persists.
