RIP 2008 4Runner

Well my '08 gave its life to save ours. We lived after hitting a tree from being pushed off the highway because someone wanted the lane I was already in. We were both ( my girlfriend and I) Medflighted to two separate hospitals. I was trapped and sustained shattered rt leg from the knee down including the knee, torn MCL, 4 broken ribs, broken wrist and 2 broken bones in my forearm. My GF has broken sternum, pelvis, let arm, rt clavicle and misc smaller bones. I've already had 3 surgeries and there will most likely be a 4th as there is nerve damage in my rt arm. This happened on 12/21/21. We are both still in the hospital.

The suv did its job!!!!!!!!!

Geez - how awful. Glad you’re at the point you can update . Glad to hear the truck did it’s job - if you’re not worse for the wear. Hopefully you’ll be back to planning your next mods and upgrades soon for the next vehicle

WOW, so glad you both survived, the T4R sure did it's job but looking at that wreckage it's hard to imagine ya'll could have survived, sending my prayers for ya'll to fully recover, please let us know how ya'll are doing!!

We are not sure. The trooper came to me when I was being put in the helicopter that they got him but we don't know if that means he took off and they caught him or they have him in custody because he was drunk or high. Mass RMV still has not released the report yet and Noone knows why.

That is awful, but so glad to hear you and your girlfriend are on the mend. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if you were in a less protective vehicle. Take care.
