I was in in the lunchroom today at work when a coworker came in and told me Les had passed.
He was a remarkable inventor and is basically responsible for what rock music sounds like today.

I own a 1968/69 Gibson Les Paul Custom. 100% original.
This guitar has got me through life. There is no other feel/sound like a Gibson Les Paul.
I can only compare it to when you are in a 4Runner with a manual transmission and you are in 2nd gear low range and you come up into a mud hole and you wonder if you are going to make to the other side. Then this feeling comes over you... You push in the clutch and drop into 3rd low range and gas it! Your body gets thrown back into the seat and windshield instantly turns brown from the mud and the sound from the clumps of mud hitting the wheel wells is deafening...Yeah, kinda like that.
