has anyone built a new wiring harness or parts of one?
long story short, I've owned my 05 for 7 years and I've never had a working front passenger blinker save for a few months when I first got the truck. I will take responsibility for some of the issues, as I lifted the truck and put 35s on pretty quickly. I had to trim the bumper and remove most of the plastic fender liner exposing that whole mess of wiring under there to all the elements.
a few months ago, the bumper also got ripped off in a parking accident which ripped out the fog lights and blinkers, leaving the wiring torn. I bought new plugs for all the bulbs and did my best to rewire it all. I got the fog lights and the driver side blinker working. but the passenger blinker has 2 wires coming from the harness and the plug has 3 wires. when I tried to wire it, the blinker worked intermittently but it caused all sorts of strange grounding issues. the wipers wouldn't work all the time, the blinkers both flashed fast (like a bulb was out), and the windshield washer would either not work or it would cause the wipers to come on and not turn off.
to fix it, I cut off the 3-wire plug for the passenger blinker. and it worked. all the strange issues stopped saved for the rear washer pump.
so, all the wiring seems jacked. I noticed when wiring up the new plugs that some of the wiring was corroded down there. I'd like to just replace it all and see if I can get it working the way it should.
is there a certain kind of wire I should use to rebuild this harness? I plan on just replacing wire-by-wire as I don't want to shuck out $300+ on a used harness from a salvage yard.
