Rocking at highway speed

I have the same problem and have replaced EVERYTHING in the front suspension (upper and lower control arms, ball joints, shocks, springs, and alignment pins) and it didnt change anything. So back to the rear: replaced the lower control arms and swaybar endlinks and bushings, new bilstein shocks and new springs. Still no change. Checked the rear upper upper control arms and both appear to be in good condition. Bought new Grabber II tires, still nothing. I also checked the frame to see is it was weak from rust or abuse......nothing. Out of desperation I replaced all the steering rack bushings.....still have the problem. I sure hope you or someone finds out what the problem is as its driving me nuts....(and my wallet is starting to feel the pain)

anyways, your confidence has inspired me, lol. I have ordered these guys from energy suspension:
Rear Control Arm Bushings - Toyota 4Runner - 8.3133 - 4 link bushings
Rear Track Arm Bar Bushings - Toyota 4Runner - 8.7106 - panhard bushings

And I think that I'll also order a panhard drop kit as well from [MENTION=28464]eimkeith[/MENTION]

If that fails, then I'll just buy a new set of front lower control arms. And if that doesn't work I'll just keep throwing money at the parts man until I have a brand new vehicle! At least I'll enjoy the work...

Shit man, this just scared me. lol, I really don't want to spend that ind of money and NOT fix the problem. I'm sorry to hear you've had such harsh luck

What!!!??? I didn't do this. I never heard of anyone doing this.

You should be doing this to ANY rubber bushing involved if the static position changes...

This means - front upper and lower a-arm pivot bushing should be loosened when doing front suspension and all 5 links in the rear should be loosened when doing the rear suspension - then retightened at the new ride height. Any position that has been replaced with poly or heims can be left alone, as they rotate inherently.

BTW... this also makes fitting new springs and shocks much easier!

Good info & should be shared around here more often.

When I installed my rear lift I replaced the panhard bar with an adjustable one but never loosened the upper or lower control arms.

Just a quick update, [MENTION=116470]Tyler James Inc[/MENTION] was right. I replaced the bushings on the 4 rear suspension links. The metal sleeve on the two lower links just fell right out after I removed them. Super loose. I drove to work this morning with new bushings and a bunch of big rocks in the back for load, and there was no rocking noticed. We will see how it handles with a proper load the next time we go camping.... in the mean time, I will still install the panhard bushings when they arrive and the panhard correction kit as well.
