Installed! Without the fairing for now since i still have to paint over the Rola trademark. Now I gotta decide if I want the low brackets or the extension first! Overall, i'm really diggin this rack. Definitely more wind noise than before but that was expected anyways arty: And to Arn, I didn't take any steps for rust prevention though I should have since i've seen some issues with this rack.

I took a pressure hose and the rola sticker came right off. Once you put the fairing on your won't hear it at all. I used black gasket sealant and haven't had any rust problems. When I had my 3rd gen I had a rola and didn't use anything and had an orange line at every joint when it rained.

I was pretty worried about wind noise (my cargo box I had on previously made having the sunroof open unbearable), but it's barely noticeable. I can hear more 'wind sounds' (I hesitate to call it noise...) with the sunroof open, I can just make out the sounds with the sunroof closed, and it completely disappears when I close the sunroof shade. I'm happy.

I agree, with the fairing on I can barely hear anything while I drive. I usually have the radio on anyway, but it's definitely not noisy.

I didn't use any water-proofing and we had a pretty decent rain today so I'll see what happens with the rack over the next few weeks. Hopefully I don't have any issues.

Sweet looking rig! I'm really digging that sticker. Yeah I installed it today after going to home depot for some screws. My dumbass lost 2 somehow in the transition of putting on the fairing. :doh: Have yet to drive it but I take your guys' word for it.

Amazon is weird sometimes. On the main product page it shows a price of $153, but if you click on the blue "other sellers on Amazon" link, you can then select the $119 with free Prime shipping options. Maybe they get paid to, or are required to, show other vendors as the primary option?

Check out the low-profile mounts for this rack. I don't remember where I got mine but total game changer. I installed rubber 1/2" spacers to bring it just off the roof line. Rola for the money is one of the best looking and functional racks out there. easy on and off. I saw threads about water getting inside so I sealed mine with silicone.

I've got them, and yup, they're worth it. I do wish they came with some washers for the U-Bolts, though. I'm not sure what engineer decided a bolt through a slot would be fine with just a nut. Had to scrounge some up from my misc. bolts box.

I had the Rola Vortex before on my Subaru, what I did to prevent rusting was using that Great Stuff roof foam and fill up each opening and let it dry and then used the rubber gasket that came with it. So far no rusting after 2 years.

I don't see it on their site, but it might be worth a phone call. Yes, on the 4th gens you have to remove the cross bars.

You're saying you pressure washed the wind fairing to get the sticker off? I'm currently trying to figure out a way to remove it.

Had this done yesterday actually. I've had the rack for a year just never got around to it. I got the rack and extension welded together then I had custom L mounts that use the factory slides to bolt it to the roof. Now I plan to get it rhino lined sometime this week. Still cheaper than a Yakima, Baja, Gobi, etc.

I'll vouch that this a great rack for the money. Love the lower profile design compared to most.

Anyone with a 5th Gen have it installed with the center extension? Wondering how that looks.

Finally installed my Rola Rack with 2 extensions. I made some home made low profile mounting bracket bought from home depot. I also need to make 2 more brackets in the front for to take the load. Need to add LED bar in the front to further reduce wind noise. I think it turned out great!

I have a sport and was wondering if you Can mount it to the crossbars? Or do you have to use the lowering brackets? The brackets are almost as much as the rack.
