roof rack questions

I've been wanting to get a roof rack for my 4runner for extra camping gear, canoe, etc. But when I purchased my 4runner it didn't come with the factory roof rack. I'm not a fan of the ones that mount to the doors is there an option so I can have a basket or cross bars mounted in the factory location?

I assume you have the blank plastic rails that run front to rear? Real low profile strips?

If so, you can just pull those and put in a factory rails. Just got to a junk yard and grab some for real cheap...then you can get a Thule footpack or whatever you like.

I have looked at 14 junk yards and never had any luck in finding any. So that's my only option is to find one for sale

Ebay or Car-part.com should have something that can be shipped to you, but hopefully you can find something within Canada to keep shipping costs down.
