Roof Rack ?

I just bought a 2018 SR5 Premium for my wife.She wants the roof rack black. After I take it off and have it powder coated would you reseal around the white tubes ? Or do you thing it's new enough to just set the rack back in place. I will put new sealant on the bolt threads.

Instead of powder coating, have you looked into getting them wrapped? I got a quote of only $120 and they could leave them on the vehicle during the process. A good wrap job should last many years, and you can easily remove it or change it if you don't like the look later on.

I had mine powder coated and simply reinstalled the bolts and haven't had any leaking issues after a few months and many heavy rains. I think the bolt threads is enough if you're reusing the stock hardware, they have big rubber gaskets on the bottom. I would put sealant around the bolt threads

save yourself some money and just wrap it yourself. its not hard to do and you dont have to remove the rails.
