Roof rack

Hello ~

I'm looking for a roof rack for my '05.... I currently have a kayak rack on one side and then also have a Thule. But...unless I stick the Thule (which takes up about half of the top rack) backwards, when it opens it will hit the kayak unless I take the kayak off where I could then open the Thule. Any suggestions for a 'half rhino rack' or some other kind of rack I could stick on that doesn't have a lid, but instead where I could tie down stuff on just half of the roof? I have the stock roof rack system with the moving bars on top already...

Any ideas? Appreciate the help/direction.

Ray,

I’m looking at the LFD Full Roof Rack system. It looks like a great replacement for the stock rack without breaking the bank compared to a few others.

Not too clear

from what you are describing, it looks like you didn't put an extra crossbar from Thule on the factory rack. If you want maximum size on your roof rack for kayak and other things, you will need longer crossbars. I've carried as many as 6 large whitewater kayaks with my longer Yakima crossbars. I also use a kayak stacker to help. "J" bar kayak loader are easier to tie down BUT too bulky. Many rec kayakers used those and they take up too much space on a limit stock roof of the 4Runner.

Hope that helps
