Rooftop door latch step

Anybody have or tried one of these. There are a bunch of them out there. My main concern is the door latch. Can it withstand the pressure one of these puts on it?

The original design was on shark tank and was designed by a fire fighter and i believe a nurse or 911 dispatch operator. Apparently one of the strongest parts of a vehicle is that door jam latch and is required so by regulations. I assume its to ensure the door stays shut. Anyways, I would buy one but dont really have the need for it since I have a trunk ladder and I'm tall.
