Quick backstory:
Getting ready for an upcoming day trip, and decided to do a quick tire rotation. Upon rotation, I noticed substantial play from a main steering component, the idler arm. Had I not happen to be rotating tires I may have not caught it until it was too late. Fortunately I did catch it, ordered it and am going to be ready for the trip.
That being said, what sort of stuff do people do before hitting the trail? I just added jacking up the front end and checking components for free play to my list.
Is there anything else common to do besides tire pressure and torque and fluids?
Curious what some of the more seasoned folks have to say or rules they follow.
This also doubles as a "don't take sh!t for granted" PSA I suppose.
