Did you ever end up taking your 4Runner somewhere? I think I’m going to have to take my Runner in And was wondering if you have a place you liked near SLC.

I'll Tripple that request. SLC used to have a place called the Toy store that had an amazing mechanic. He was immediately able to identify an issue I was having with an '82 SR5 22R that had stumped the closest Toyota dealership Mark Miller mechanics for months.

I learned then that a model specific mechanic is worth every extra dollar they charge.

Considering the number of 4runners on the road, there must someone out there!

If you're willing to make the drive to Orem, I highly suggest visiting Cody at GOOCH on Geneva Road, just off of 1600 North. I am biased, the owner is a friend. But he's a Toyota guy, retired Marine, great dude.

Going to bump this, having an issue with my trunk latch that after tearing down seems to be an issue with some riveted in components. I just moved back to UT and would love a reliable guy who is knowledgeable about these trucks!

Daves Auto in centerville is going to be the best for engine work not only in Utah but in this area of the states. But they are very pricey compared to other mechanics.

I had them do diagnostic work and some engine work on my 92 and they did a fantastic job. Had to bail on getting other stuff done with them because it's about double someones else's rate.

I am also looking for a general mechanic decently affordable that is great with toyotas for stuff like clutch and timing work though.
