Hey all, last new thread I'll start. I promise, but three folks have already expressed interest in setting up monthly meets. Anyone else down to join? I'm relatively new to the area, but I hear there are some places to explore in Fredericksburg.

I'm down to have the first meet old school at a parking lot or something to establish communication channels. And of course this isn't limited to just 5th gens, I just am new to posting. Have mercy admins!

I'm interested - there's also a couple of groups on Facebook that do simIlar meetups but I don't think there's any regular schedule so you might want to piggyback on those too. Feel free to PM me and I can send the links.

Alright all, so far we got 6 including me. [MENTION=125778]Guamsta[/MENTION] has a brother who also has a runner so he counts for two.

I'm thinking maybe our first meet can be the 16th of this month which is next Saturday. If that day doesn't work, let's figure something out and have a monthly meetup! Not sure about places to meet yet but I'm down for anywhere. I'm kind of new to the area so if you have a spot to drive and trail ride (even if it's basic) that would be a great first start!

Thoughts on time/place/destination?

Thanks neighbor... who plays golf? we can do Top Golf, i have a friend who is a rep there that might be able to get us a hook up for a few rounds
 
if yall decide to do a run out at any of the OHVs down that way id love to join. been killing me that i havent made time to go hit any of those down there. plus i gotta break the 35s in.

I'm loving the top golf idea. Meet for an hour or so to play a round, then ride out to some trails then call it a day. I'm game. Or even just meet there since there's plenty of space to park in the overfill parking area. Yeah!

As for the OHVs, that is def in the stars for an event, just need to establish a good group buy in for meets to really take advantage of some of the private land space available. Some offer up only to groups exceeding a certain number of participants. Loving all these ideas, keep em coming group! Sounds like we have the numbers to start a local T4r gathering! Exciting!
 
Why don't you guys meet at hidden falls in marble falls, It's not far from SA. If you need a trail guide (highly recommended if nobody in the group knows the park) I could probably make it out and show you guys around.....

Fredericksburg has a place called Canyons, but it is only open a few weekends and is not really 5th gen friendly.

That works too. I just didn't know if the majority of folks could make it out. I was thinking a low key, easy location for a first meet up would help to make folks comfortable with each other, idk baby steps I guess. I've only been to Chocoloco in AL when my rig was bone stock and it was a challenge. Dangerous of me to go in alone, I should have taken that item from the old geezer in the cave.

I knew about marble falls, but are there any things close by. Hill country or Fredericksburg. I've heard rumors but agin, just hear say with no real "go here" advice.

Hidden falls is the most appropriate place to go for moderate rigs. It's 1.5 hrs from SA. There are other places in the hill country.. (Canyons, Trees Ranch) but most are only open specific weekends and generally only offer extreme terrain and require you to be there at a certain time for driver meetings..... They are more of a planned full weekend experience vs just show up and run a few trails.

There are several overland routes in the hill country, but they are pretty much just dirt roads with a few scenic spots and river crossings. 4wd not even required.

You might also want to consider doing this May 12-15.

Wheres love for the H town ppl lol. idk be down for a little road trip SA is just 2 hours away so not to bad. Id be down for a meetup!
 
Count me in for a meetup. I've been to Hidden Falls and have wanted to get back up there. I'm going to Jambo as well in May up in Gilmer, TX.
