I had a great time sitting and eating with member Viera last month after we met to do a part buy, and meeting hrod79 before that. I am going to be off work from my rig sometime between Monday and Wednesday (14 -16 July). I was wondering if any of you San Antonio members might be willing to do a meet and greet over dinner one of those evenings. We can compare rides and lie about past exploits. I'd really like to put faces to names like C2one, STX4Runner, Speedy Gomez, and others to name a few. I'll be able to narrow the days down closer as the weekend gets near, but I was wondering if there might be an interest. I'll be on the south side, but I can travel anywhere in the greater SA area to do this. I just need an address to punch in the gps. If you're interested please chime in. :)

I don't know about the din-din as I'm up I-10, but wanted to throw this out for SA members.

Cavender Toyota charges 15% more for parts than any of the other dealers in the area. I needed an ignition coil for my wife's Avalon a few months ago and queried them for a price while I was in there conducting some follow-up business related to a recent automotive purchase . My eyes popped out of my head when I was given the price. Turns out it was not just this one item, but several as I called back later with a list of common items and sure enough, their parts prices are exactly 15% higher than any other SA dealer.

When possible I buy all my Toyota OEM from a dealer in Newnan Georgia. He sells for 30% less than the std. dealer price you would get at McCombs, North Park, Universal; Alamo.

I'm trying to work from home that week so I should be good to go once a date/time is narrowed down.

However, I think my manager knows I will be doing less :typing: and :phone: and more :sleepy: and  !

I'd go to SA in a heartbeat....

When my daughter graduated from Lackland, I had a blast there for a week.

Being originally from Pennsyltucky...I kind of fit right in there.

Don't Mess with Texas Baby!

Sorry I'm just now responding. Work has been crazy, and on top of that my wife and I have our first child now (4 mos. old), so life is hectic! PM me if you come up with plans and I'll see if it can be fit in. Would like to meet some local members, as there aren't too many of us.

Will do. As of now it looks like Monday or Tuesday evening would be likely. We should be finishing drilling tomorrow night, and from there it takes 24 - 30 hours for us to get out of the hole and torn down. My other night guy and I are trying to figure out who's going into town first. Lol.

On another note, could youse that might be coming think about some local places to meet? I like to try the local flavors when I can, but I'm not very familiar with San Antonio. :hungry:

I'm in if Monday. Tuesday is a little tricky... closing on a new house and might be working that night...but don't change what is good for the group on account of me.

Where is everyone coming from and then we can pick a place central.... I'm coming from NW 1604 and 151 area. 3wbdriver is open to anywhere but he is coming from south of San Antonio. Downtown might be best. The Cove, couple places at Blue Star, or Pearl Brewery. Parking shouldn't be an issue at any of these places...... All have good food or good for just having a drink and hanging out.

Speedy Gomez STX4Runner c2one, 3wbdriver Viera anyone else from San Antoniotag them by placing an @ in front of their name so they get a notification.

I'm down for anything. I think the Cove is closed on Mondays. I can meet around 6:30 or anytime after that.

There is Sam's Burger Joint and La Gloria which is at the Pearl Brewery. Also, downtown is a little food truck area called Alamo Eat Street, they usually have 4-6 food trucks there.

We're coming out of the hole as I type. We will be done sometime late this evening barring problems. I'll get with my other guy and see if he still wants to go to town first tomorrow. He's senior to me so he get's first dibs. I'll try to update tonight before everyone goes to bed. Downtown somewhere is fine with me. I have eaten at The Cove and the food was good.

I checked and the Cove is closed. But Sam's burger joint is open, as well as La Gloria. In the blue star area the blue star brewery is open Monday however kitchen closes after 3pm. Stella public house in blue star area is awesome for brick oven pizza and draft beer. I am out on Tuesday. Just found out I will be working.

Monday evening it is! I haven't had a burger in a while so Sam's burger sounds good to me if it is okay with everybody else. Say 7pm to allow everybody time? I'll pm everybody my cell number later this evening. Looking forward to it. :)
