I haven't planned suspension for anytime too soon, but I wonder if better struts would make the 4Runner easier on my wife's neck? Even around town she finds bumps painful sometimes...

The 5100's make it more stiff. Just about any aftermarket strut is going to be stiffer. Anything that makes it plusher on road is going to have you paying the price off road.

Ah... got it... I'll need to change out my suspension between the "driving my wife" suspension and the "going somewhere interesting" suspension! Except that, after today, I don't think that changing suspension is all that easy!!

Oh, and I added my vanity plate... not through my username, but... maybe now I'll get spotted!

I wouldn't say I'm super mechanically inclined, or have all the tools or space to do my own suspension work, but I've done all the other mods to my 4runner. Some electrical, some just pulling things apart to access other things haha. I'm an engineer and I love to work on my car and always learning more! If you guys get together again and need another hand let me know! I can also help with whatever knowledge I may possess on whatever it is you want to do haha

My next project day is going to be a big wiring job. I am going to add a couple of lights and move some switches. I'll let y'all know when that's going to happen. Hopefully in a week or two.

I recently ended up doing all of my work I needed to do and will be installing my lift on Saturday.

Replaced UCA bushings, rear control arm bushigns (upper/lower) in the rear, new cv axles, steering rack bushings, upper/lower ball joints, steering rack hoses, p/s pump.

I've got a few tools to get jobs done but no space so if anyone needs a hand I'll be happy to give them one. I plan on meeting you guys/gals on the trail soon.
