Satellite Radio Reception? Eezi Awn K9 Rack

I have a 2016 Trail and looking into the K9 2.2m rack for a RTT setup. I have read many threads on this topic with somewhat mixed reviews on if the Sirius/XM Satellite reception will be affected with the slats of the K9 rack directly above the Shark Fin. How about slats + Hard Shell RTT such as the James Baroud or Autohome? I enjoy the Sirius/XM and so does the wife and I dont want to mess up a good thing!!
[MENTION=44305]weeeee[/MENTION] and others have described modifications to the height of the shark fin and it is mentioned that the 2016 shark fin has a redesign by Toyota. In reading, it seems the 2010-2011 owners had lots of concerns of poor reception in general, and it appears Toyota has modified the shark fin several times over the years (5th Gen), and with my 2016 I have no complaints of poor reception.

So, I suppose my question is directed to those with 2016 and newer model year with an aluminum rack such as the K9 sitting directly above and also for those with a hard shell RTT sitting directly above the antenna.

What is your experience?? Thanks

2017 here with the stock sharkfin antenna. I have the 2.2m K9 with a JB sport tent. Have 0 issues with reception as long as it has a open sky. Things start to cut out for me when there's tall buildings or I'm deep in the canyons.

Well, I have a 2014 and if it's any consolation I have no issues with my modified antenna, JB tent, and full length aluminum roof rack. Granted I didn't have the reception issues that plagued the early gens either, even after I modified to run the lower profile racks.

Thanks guys for the input. Kind of leaves me again scratching my head as [MENTION=153545]LOLSNOW[/MENTION] has a 2017 with zero issues and then [MENTION=175086]Icantdrive55[/MENTION] had to get a dash mount antenna. Urgh!! Anyone else care to comment?
