Saturday 2/1/14 Ocala National Forest

Lets see if we can get a Toyota run together. T4R, Tacoma, FJC, Land Cruiser. Whatever.

Meet at:

Kangaroo Express
42404 Florida 19
Altoona, FL 32702

Arrive at 8:30. Gas up, get food/drink. Leave by 9:00 am.

Kid friendly event so bring them. Will stop for lunch somewhere along the way. If you can bring a CB radio (hand held ones are cheap from Amazon) and a tow strap.

There is very little mud out there, it is mostly sand with some water that has hard bottom. If you have off road tires and 4x4 you have all you really need.

Anyone who wants to camp Friday night before or Sat after Alexander Springs State Park is close by Altoona.

Post up if you will make it.

If the pics in your new girl thread are your current t4r then you will be fine out there. Its just mild trails. I hate HATE H A T E mud and avoid it like the plague. Worse comes to worse comes we will just give you a little bit of a pull to assist but I doubt it will be necessary. Just leave some following distance, do not stop in the middle of the sugar sand spots, and you will have no problems at all.

Is anyone planning on camping for this event? I know there are good spots near salt springs and the rodmans dam area. im in south florida now but used to run all over that forest. would love to make the trip up

Closest camp to the meet place is Alexander Springs. The sites do not have electric like salt springs does but the sites are real nice as are the people who run it. If your going to camp after perhaps Salt Springs or Juniper Springs would be better since they will be up close to where we may end up. Heck, stay 2 nights and do both! You coming Nolerunner?

im planning on coming and having another truck from tallahassee meet there. I wouldnt be there until after dark friday night but planning on bringing a grill and a filled cooler, stayin friday and saturday night. Is anyone else planning on camping?

Thanks for the invite Greg. Not sure I'll make it as I need to tear into the motor to fix and oil leak do the timing belt. Also tires and a ton of other things. Maybe ill put some of that of though. I havent been out since the Fl4x4 campout.

haha oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. i haven't updated my profile since last year and literally my truck is completely different, i moved, and i am now in Orlando by UCF. it will most likely only be me.

Hopefully there's not too much sugar sand. That stuff gave my traction control a workout last time I went wheeling. With 2wd I just plow into it at 30mph and let momentum and traction control do the rest. Good times!!!

He is here, aware of ride, and last I heard he was tempted to leave the bike at home and off road the T4R with us for a change. We will see....
