Just wanted to introduce myself after lurking here since Jan. I bought a 1999 4runner in Jan and have found this forum very informative in helping get it fixed up.
3.4 standard, 260,000ish km
Other than it blowing a sparkplug which then damaged a coil pack was just regular wear and tear maintenance needing doing.
Am quite pleased with it so far, get 18mpg pulling the camper, and average 24 running empty.
I have never had a vehicle this fancy and am a bit embarressed at times, but am getting used to it. I still marvel though that it starts with the A/C on. And that being able to roll the windows up after the key is out is wonderful.
