This was interesting. There was a stock 4 door Jeep in the group that guy high centered on a rock. We used the Hi-lift to pick the rear tire up to get the vehicle off the rock. Next the driver drove off the jack and cleared the stone. Pretty neat to use our new tools in a rear situation.

Last obstacle I got on film. Narrow rock patch. I shot 4 vehicles going through. My dad was driving my 4Runner.

First up a 2-door JK. Short wheel base helps in the rocks. He did bang his slider pretty good though. https://vimeo.com/154503158

Got it. Did it maintain the ride height with the armor or did it add any lift?

These instructions are from Bud's website:

Clean all steel pieces with brake cleaner and wiped clean.
Wearing rubber gloves, I washed all steel pieces with Dawn and warm water to remove any remaining dirt and grease
Towel dry with gloves still on. Don’t touch the bare metal with your bare hands until its primed
Spray 1-2 coats of etching primer (Sherwin-Williams Automotive).
Spray 1-2 coats of Rustoleum automotive primer
Spray 1-2 coats of top coat (I used black semi-gloss).
Let dry.
 
I removed the rear sliding cargo deck today in anticipation of the Goose-Gear plate system. It's for sale so make me an offer.

First remove cover on each side of tray. Each contains 4 bolts.

The tray will simply lift off after those 8 bolts are removed. Next remove the tie down points on the rear.

This will allow the back strip to pop off exposing the last couple of bolts on the rails.

Once removed the rail system will come off in a single piece.

Remove the brackets for the tie down points.

Removing the carpeting can be tricky, there are 3-4 tabs holding it in place under the front lip of the tailgate threshold.

I haven't posted in a while, but waned to list of upgrades. Installed Goose-Gear Icebox and ARB 50qt Fridge. Fantastic combo for anyone walking that line between daily driver and expedition rig.

Also should note I sold my Drabbits roof rack and went to a BajaRack SPY utility rack. I love the versatility of the flat rack. Went with Rigid 40" E2 light bar.

Oh, and I added a CBI Off-road rear bumper. It took a hard hit on the first day with hardly a scratch to show for it.

Currently shopping for a new front end and piecemeal buying components to build a dual battery system.

Nice build thread and great looking rig! It's nice to see another t4r member from Charleston. I recently purchased a 2012 sr5 a few months and it's my first 4runner, and so far, it has been awesome! I've been trolling the thread and finally decided on a lift and new rims. Question... did you install your suspension mod yourself and did you have a shop install it? If so, can you recommended a good reputable shop around the lowcountry? TIA!

Thanks! I had the suspension done at Lowcountry 4x4 on 17 in West Ashley. They are okay, but expensive at $95 per hour. I wouldn't let them cut on the truck or wire anything. The 4x4 community down here is 10% Jeeps 90% lifted domestic trucks designed to kick up mud.

I had the CBI bumper done by Steve Springs at Southeast Overland. His shop is in Seneca, SC. His rates are a lot better and he's an authority in the Overland / Toyota community. Steve is great at giving advice and standing behind his work.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll get to the install eventually, might have to just tackle it with a friend. It's just been hard to find time with a newborn.

How do you like the 4runner attic from blueridge overland? I recently just ordered one cause of the holiday sale.

I've got a local buddy, Tom, who is also a 5th Gen owner and always offering to turn wrenches.

The attic is great. I keep pillows up there as well as my rain gear. You pick up anything else this weekend?

Awesome, that'll be great if you could put the word out to him. I'll send a pm one day when I'm ready to do the install.

Almost bought ome 884 and a PSD rack from orangeboxx, but wife is not going to be happy. Already purchased a set of bilstein 5100s, sway 1.5 rear coils, and level 8 mk6 wheels as a "christmas present" to myself as my reason lol.
