ScanGaugeII overhead console install

I need to do some more finish work but you get the idea. My garage is unheated so the fumes build up, I'll have to finish it when it warms up. I cut a BFH in the door of the console, test fitted, and filled with plastic epoxy putty. Then plasti-dipped for texture and painted. I had to use a CAT6 coupler and patch cable to reach the OBD plug. Then programmed the ScanGauge to read trans temp, named it trying to look like degree F but it looks dumb, I'll edit that later. Anyway, here it is. The pictures are crappy, from iPhone, but they'll work for now.

Awesome! i want to move mine up there now! How much of a pain was it splicing the cable, just tiny wires spliced like normal??

I had the tool and ends to make a patch cable. I went to Lowes and bought a coupler like this:

I like that idea, but I take mine out and use it as a diagnostic tool on other cars. I might try this, but without the permanent install...maybe some kind of clip in idea....

I didn't install the mirror, it was the previous owner. It is just like the ones in the earlier GM vehicles if you're familiar with those. It looks pretty straight forward though. Power and temp sensor and move mount to windshield. I think I saw a similar thread about these types of mirrors recently. Its handy, if it wasn't already there, it would definitely be on the list!

I just got my one-piece overhead console and plan to swap it into my '96 this weekend... just need to get my Scangauge before then to mount in there like this thread... I also have the GM mirror with compass and temperature readings
