Scat Adams Build Thread

Trying to decide between HID's, Dynamat'ing the interior or a new head unit. Leaning towards the Dynamat. In a few months- roof rack, gobi ladder & sport hood.

I'm painting the license plate trim gun metal this weekend, cant decide on what to do with the chrome emblems though.... Also the roof rack and spoiler will be sprayed with some black Krylon paint.

Beautiful truck man, I love the paint color and the painted wheels you chose. Also, if you are going to paint the license paint trim gunmetal, go ahead and spray your emblems the same color. It'd look really sweet matching like that.

More than likely Im just going to go with a plug-in HID kit, nothing too fancy just need some decent light output without blinding other drivers.

If not projectors, then I would go with a nice double DIN head unit. Something you can enjoy every minute you drive it.

My fav is the one hepar has, the eclipse AVN-something.

Look at this crap. I put this guy's lift on for him and the doesn't have the decency to keep modding for the rest of this. This aggression will not stand, man! Matt, update us...update your truck. Hood scoop, dynamat, hurry up.

Search YT for the "fog light mod" & "andymod 2.0". Those are 2 electrial mods you can knock out real quick. While not a visual mod per se, they are very beneficial mods.

BTW, watch out for PnP HID Kits. More often than not, those kits will blind oncoming traffic much more so than a true retrofit...especially when installed on a lifted vehicle.

Def block out a weekend and sound deaden the vehicle. Granted, I've only done the floorboard from bumper to bumper, but wow, what a difference that made.

4Runner looks good.

miller i miss you and your updates ......................................................no homo :girl:

Apparently this loser got some small things done to this ugly ass whip, so if he'll drag himself away from the Savannah bars he may be able to post a picture or 2, unless he completely screwed up which makes sense why he hasn't. Act like you know something Matt.

Havent checked/updated this in a while and yes I did get some small stuff done, put some Krylon on some faded black pieces around the truck. Still gotta tackled the license plate trim, but that should be done in the next few weeks....

Hey Weston, ditch the Camry already! Someone was asking me about your truck the other day and I told them I like to think that thing is jumping dunes in Mexico right now!

I saw another thread where you said you used some kind of paint gun to paint the wheels. Am I just making things up? If not, what kind of gun and where did you get it? Your wheels came out super smooth. I picked up some Tundra rims that I want to paint, but I don't want them to look like crap when I'm done.

Thanks.

I used one of the plastic spray guns you find in the rattle can section, about 3 or 4 bucks.

Just take your time sanding them. Be sure to use a finishing sand paper after you use a rougher one to take off the clear coat. Then wipe them down with windex & let them dry. Light coats at first, then heavier ones after a few coats. Wait about 20 minutes between each coat. I also sprayed about 6-7 coats of clear coat on them, make sure you wait about 2 hours after the paint dries before you clear them to you avoid the "milk" effect.

Good luck!
