Looks like I've might have scored myself a rear axle from a 97 4runner with rear diff lock including the wiring for around $450-$500 from a local salvage yard. :biggrin2:
It's out of a 97 4runner 5spd. 4x4 I've talked with afew people and rear gear ratio is 4.10 the same that is currently in my 96 4runner (auto). I'll be going back monday to check it out again. So maybe, by next I'll have a new toy. It just won't be getting installed quite yet.

Got the locker and most of the wiring today. The rest of the wiring was a little messed up but that's okay I can get the rest online. After all was said and done I spent less than $500.

Do you really need the factory harness, or do you just want it. I guess with the factory harness it would keep it from only working in 4wd. But why not just run a switch, even the factory switch to 12volts and do it that way. That looks like a big mess.

True it is a mess but only a few of those wires run to the locker that rest are well just there.
I needed the wires that run from the locker up to body. Then I'll use a kit from inchworm to connect the rest.
