This has been an ongoing thing for a few thousand miles now. I haven't had any luck diagnosing this, or been able to find anyone with a similar sounding issue.
Whenever I get to around 3K RPM I get this screeching sound. At first I just thought this was a belt throwing a fit, but the thing that doesn't make sense to me is that this noise is coming out of the exhaust pipe. This noise is audible from the engine bay but is mainly coming from the exhaust. Do you think it would be anything wrong with the exhaust, or possibly a burnt valve or something of that nature. Some additional Info:1996 4runner 3.4L , 302,000 MI., , Recently replaced all spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, New MAF sensor, Cleaned Throttle body, IAC, water pump and timing belt were done about 20,000 Mi. ago.
