Seafoam Spray - Worked Again

[MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I did the Sea Foam treatment yesterday. My truck wasn't running rough but I do notice a little bit of a rough idle when the truck is cold. Barely noticeable but I can feel the vibration of the engine and detect a rough spot now and then. After it's warmed up and the high idle kicks down, the idle is very smooth. The Sea Foam treatment didn't change anything with the smoothness of the high idle but I did experience better throttle response when stepping on the gas pedal on the freeway causing the transmission to kick down, unless it's just all in my head.

Regardless, the Sea Foam treatment didn't cause us any negative results, and I imagine if I did what Chris Fix did videoing the before and after carbon deposits on the tops of the pistons, I imagine I would see some carbon removal as well.

We made another video of doing this treatment and we'll post it soon after [MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] does his magical touches to make it more viewable. We'll post it here to for those that subscribed to this thread.

[MENTION=115347]gamefreakgc[/MENTION], thanks for recommending this product. At first, I wasn't sure the improved acceleration was just my imagination or due to the Sea Foam treatment. After putting more miles on the truck, it's definitely clear to me my engine is running better. It responds better when I put my foot into it and the engine feels more powerful.

I'm definitely a fan of this product now and recommend you guys try it if you're on the fence of whether or not to give it a go.
 
If you live in CA probably a good idea to stock up - seems likes anything that works good eventually gets banned by the idiots running this circus.
 
Shortly after doing this with [MENTION=120071]mtbtim[/MENTION] I got a CEL for a P1135 that points to a couple different things but thanks to [MENTION=10169]TheDurk[/MENTION] it points heavily towards the A/F sensor. Looks like an 02 sensor...

It's hard to say whether the sea foam messed with this sensor, but after 150k I'd say it was probably time to change this sensor anyway.

Bought one on Amazon for $100.

I will install it today after work and update

Update: installed sensor on my break, drove home, then to the store, then back. Drove around did a couple errands where I stopped and started the engine...

No code came back on yet.

Really an entire can? I use Seafoam or (Kreen in the past). Yes I believe it's quality stuff and works. But, I only recommend at max a 1/4 cup through the vacuum line on occasion. I seriously do not believe these engines need mass quantities of any foreign additives added to them. Not starting a flame war here but I think it's totally unnecessary. A $7 mechanic in a bottle doesn't replace quality gas and quality oil. All that gets you is a $7 smoke show.

Again no flame war, just my own .02.

EDIT: I wouldn't use it as a regular maintenance item. I think if you're starting to see problems, increase the frequency of your oil changes. Spend extra on Exxon Techron or other quality gas. Like I said, I use it but on very rare occasions.

Well, using the whole can is what the directions say, so that's what we did. I think for a high percentage of us, we bought our rigs used and have no idea what kind of fuel or oil the previous owner(s) used over the years. So, a partial can might be good for someone who is the original owner and has been treating his rig nice it's whole life. All I know is I got some good results using the whole can and don't think I would have gotten the same effect by only using a 1/4 can. But, that's just my edjumacated guess.
