I've pretty well narrowed my miss fire on #3 being a fuel injector dumping fuel, so what is seafoam and does it have another name, and if that dont fix it how hard is #3 injector to replace with out taking apart the upper engine apart on 2000 3.4 engine

Seafoam is essentially a way to clean gunky valves. It may help with injectors, but really if you got a bad injector seafoam won't fix it.

You will need to remove the intake manifold and fuel rail to get to the injectors. It's pretty easy, just label all the vacum piping before you remve it.

You may want to pop in new spark plugs and check that your valve cover seals are all good while you got the manifold off.

Injector 3 took me about an hour to install, really simple. I think I fought the fuel rail more than I did the manifold. Only sucky part is the injectors are about $130 each. Luckily my buddy works for a parts distributor and I think I only paid like $28 for it. Just threw a check engine light today, and it is exhibiting the same symptoms as before. Guess it's time to order another injector.

If you can deal with the down time, pull all your injectors and send them to Witch Hunter. $21 per injector to clean and rebuild them. Much better option than buying non OEM replacements.

Witch hunter is currently backlogged with injectors so they're not currently taking them at the moment. I also don't think everyone has spare 4runners to deal with the downtime. lol

Hell I would do this as soon as they start accepting orders again, and I'm not even throwing codes or misfiring! As a preventative maintenance?
