seat covers?

my seats are kinda beat up and I am looking for front (50/50 bucket) and rear (60/40) seat covers for my 89 runner.

there's a bunch online for the front seats, but barely any for the rear.

Anyone have a company to suggest for the front and back?

I found wetokole . com - but they seem rather $$$

I've never seen seat covers for the back row. I'd be curious if wetokole actually has seat covers for the second row, their order form seems to be just a generic form.

They do, a friend had a set of them for his runner.

I had the fronts for my truck, they work and look fantastic, although they can get a bit warm during the summer, especially if you don't have a/c and live in a hot/humid place (like Hawaii for me when I had them).

Their quality is top notch, and they charge accordingly for it, but they will literally outlast the vehicle if you take care of them! Mine looked brand new the day I gave 'em to a friend of mine, he still has them, so that makes them around 20+ years old with LOTS of miles on them!

Take 'em out every 6 months or so and throw them in the washer/dryer, they come out smelling fresh and looking like new!!!

not sure for your model year but the wet okole seem to be best option. I searched far and near and all answers came back on them. I literally just got mine last night and can tell they'll fit great and are of good quality. during the order process you select all of your seat options to make them custom for your car. it takes a full month to get them, $300 for front seats to me was worth it.

I would give them a call/message to confirm for your vehicle, if they make them its worth the $

Just fyi. I went to an upholstry shop while shopping for materials/supplies (which I found the jackpot for)

He quoted me at $150 to re-cover the rear bench with tweed.

Could end up being cheaper and a lot nicer looking than these top dollar covers.

I've never seen 60/40 seats in the rear of a first gen. They are usually 50/50. You might not have stock seats. On the Wet Okole order form they ask you to attach a photo of your stock seat so they can make the right covers. There were a lot of varied seats installed at the ports after the trucks were imported.

Wet Okoles fit great but they are made of wet suit material. I would not put them in a dryer. I air dry wet suits and seat covers.

I have Wet Okole front bucket covers in my '89 that came from a 2004 Tacoma. They are a bit looser but removing the seat to install them allowed me to really tighten them down. They were mega cheap.

I find the seat covers pretty hot. For the money a new set costs I would rather get them reupholstered.

I've always washed and dried my wetsuits, as well as the seat covers all those years, never had an issue, but I didn't put it on incinerate mode when I used the dryer either! :bounce:

I think I just put it on the delicates mode and let 'em dry. I always found that air-drying my wetsuits would make it smell like a wet dog, especially when I got back in the water--then again, this was back home in Hawaii, where the water's already at 80-85º all year long.

And before you say it, no, I did not wear a full wetsuit in Hawaii! Just a top to keep from getting a chi chi rash!!!

My rear seats are original. They are slightly off center, but now that you mention it, they are probably considered 50/50 - I'll have to measure.

It can get oppressively hot and humid here in the summer, so maybe re-upholstering is better option.
