security system and key fab question

I just recently aquired a key fab from a 98 sr5, since my 97 limited didn't come with one. I have the security system (rs3000) and I have tried again and again to link it to my system. The fab is a BAB...202 which if I've read correctly is one that will work with my 97. Here is my main problem, I can get the security light to come on when I hold the green button for 3 second and can get it to flash when I push it again for another 2 seconds. It doesn't chirp three times however. I can hear a relay click 3 times but no chirp. Does this mean my security system is messed up? If so I can go back and pull the one out of the 98 or is there a way I can fix my security system?

Zombie post back from the dead. I am experiencing this same thing. Push green button, nothing happens. Push keyfob after, relay clicks, nothing happens with the locks, no chirp. Does anyone have any insight?


I have a 1998 SR5, RS3000 BAB237000-129. Remote is grey and BAB237131-022


Nevermind. I'm a doot-doot that can't follow directions. Works like a champ!
