Sellers remorse.... I cried. Why was I so attached?

So I sold my 2000 4runner today. I cried as I left the driveway this morning for work, as I knew that would be the last time id see her. I cried again when I got home and she was gone!!!!!! IM CRYING NOW AS I WRITE THIS. WTF.

Haha...I get emotionally attached to my vehicles as well. But I should say only if they were good vehicles. If I own a POS, I'm glad to see it go....but if it was a good vehicle that I really liked, I'm very sad when I sell it.

When I sold my Tacoma, I wept like my dog had died or something. To be fair it was my "young man's truck/car". Basically it spent my twenties with me and had all the history that goes with that.

On top of that it was a 5 speed with factory locker, rhino lined rear bed and custom fiberglass topper. The interior was immaculate and the truck had zero, I mean ZERO rust on it.

My biggest regret was that I sold it to someone who I knew was going to resell it instead of to an enthusiast. If I had it to do over I would have sold it on Tacomaworld to someone who was rabid in love with Tacomas and would have wheeled the snot out of the 'ol boy.

Just yesterday I was thinking of trading my 2008 4runner for a tacoma but I'm not sure I could let it go.

I remember when I bought one of my motorcycles, right after I paid the guy and right before we wheeled it into the bed of my pickup (at the time) he started crying/sobbing and told me to give him a minute.

It was extremely weird/awkward as a buyer.

I sold my '92 toyota pickup shortbed single cab 4x4 5 speed with the 22re in 2007 (yes I had a '92 pickup and a '91 4runner in the garage at the same time, they were the same color too, for 15 years. Just have the 4runner now). Anyway I drove the pickup around the block right before it drove away from me and it rode great, sounded good too. As the guy left with it it started making a really bad belt squeal as if it was yelling at me for selling her. It sent me over the edge and I cried a little...I still miss her sometimes...but the 4runner has always made up for it...some cars do that to people so I think its normal
