in california, do I have to go to the DMV office in person to sell or give as a gift a vehicle ?? or can everything be done by mail or online ?? thanks for advice !

As the seller, I was able to do everything by mail or online when I sold my last car here in CA.

All you have to do is sign the pink slip and send in the release of liability to DMV.
