Seriously Considering!

If I had the cash, I would buy a 5.0 Mustang in a minute, let alone the GT500. If the wife would let me keep my 66 and buy a new Mustang, I would be in Heaven.

I say go for it!!!!!!

Ford has underrated the Shelby. The ones that have been dynoed are making over 600 RWHP (the highest so far is 613 HP). It's safe to say the engine is making over 700 HP. This car is going to be AMAZING!

I still can't believe I would even consider this! The only major component in the car that is Ford, is the motor. Everything else is high quality non OEM parts. The GT-R is over $100K, I'm not willing to lay out that much cash and I will not buy a used one. The GT500 is just about the cost of a new GS.

Most 13s are making over 600 RWHP. There is no way a 662 hp engine is putting down 600 hp at the wheels. This car is making at least 700 hp. With some bolt-ons/tune and a set of slicks this car will easily be in the 10s. The closest car to the GT500 is the Z06 with the Z07 option (again $100K).

I wonder if this kid is still alive!

Good Question. I had a big wheel and drove the wheels off of it. Luckily, I am still alive, but I am old enough to realize I made it.

...not to hijack your post and change the course to a big wheel discussion...

The GT500 is an impressive machine. Who wouldn't want one? I bet I could have as much fun in that as I did on my big wheel..at 3-4 years old.

Perspective.

Insideline Track Test: 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 vs. 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Track Comparison Test

Wow, at first, i favor the Mustang because i trust Ford more than Chevy...but, more and more, the ZL1 looks like it is more of the "driver's" car compared to the brute Ford.

The ZL1 gets spanked in EVERY measure of performance and because the rag mags have to find a way to make the ZL1 the better car (because of paid adds in their publications) it becomes the better car. Driver's car my A$$ (subjective). Gee, it's the better car because it is easier to drive and feels better (sounds like a BMW review). Next it will be the better car because of the available colors! These are MUSCLE cars! Talk about REDICULOUS!
