Service question on coolant and brake fluid

Dealer wants to “flush” coolant system. Is this advised or do we just typically drain/refill on the 5th gen? They want almost $200.

Also, with replacing brake fluid on a 2018 ORP since it has an electric pump for the brakes can I just put a weight on the brake pedal with acc on and bleed it that way?

Coolant doesn’t need a flush for a 2018. Just drain and refill. If you continue at this cadence you shouldn’t ever need a flush for your coolant.

Yes, you can cycle through all of your brake fluid with the standard method. You don’t have to use the electric assist, but you can. Just don’t let the reservoir/master cylinder go empty and draw air in!

My ‘21 maintenance manual calls for coolant replacement at 100k miles and every 50k miles after. I am comfortable with this interval on an all aluminum block/head engine. I will probably replace at 50k and every 50k after just because I can. On an engine with an iron block I would replace more frequently and if the original owner didn’t change prior to 100k I would flush first. Lots of rust particles in my iron block and head 6BT.

Every 3 years to replace brake fluid is a good interval. It’s hygroscopic so it absorbs water over time. Plus brakes and tires are the most critical maintenance items for your safety.
