Several major exciting drives, I survived but would never do again:
I drove from Tucson to Nogales the hard way in a rent car once. Bad idea but I made it, arrived out of gas. Went through Ruby, Az on the Mexico border and a few other ghost towns. One lane gravel roads, grapefruit sized tarantulas and scorpions. Almost had to buy the rent car given the undercarriage condition. This was back before that part of the world was given over to the drug smugglers and bandits.
The road outside of Denver to Evans Peak, highest longest road in N. America, mostly over 14,000 ft - drop off on both sides, narrow, fog clouds often with zero visibility. Never try this ! There's other idiots on that road, some in motor homes. Fun meeting them head on.
My longest wear you out drive was North from the interstate up US Rt 666, appropriately named, long since renamed/renumbered by the offended religious folks. Goes through copper mine mountains around Morenci, Az 150 miles of killer mountain road, but good pavement the whole way. Well they used to be mountains, just big holes in the ground now.
My biggest automotive accomplishment: my dad was out of brake fluid and decided kerosene was close enough for his jeep. Took me forever to change the whole system outdoors in the winter. When the jeep finally died due to who knows what, we used it for deer rifle target practice.
