Do you mean from inside the 'transmission housing', or the center console?

Mine does it occasionally. I don't know why, and it doesn't happen that often, so I haven't worried about it.

That console just snaps straight up e.g.,
Just lift it up slightly, disconnect the Transfer case knob and rear window switch from below and then move it out of the way to check for squeak/noise. Beep sound when shifting to park
Hi guys. Not trying to hijack the thread or anything, but since my issue is related and since I can't start new threads (not enough replies on the forum :shrug: ), I figured this would be the best place to ask for advise.
I'll appreciate any help I can get on this one. About a week ago I started hearing a strange beep sound on my 2015 TE whenever I would shift to park . Just a single beep. It only happens sometimes (more often nowadays though) and it doesn't matter if I shift to park from reverse, neutral or drive.
I tried to reproduce the issue with different settings (i.e park on incline , with/without emergency brake), but these made no difference. .

The beep occurs right when the lever moves to park. It's a bit hard to hear, but it's there, in the background.

Can't seem to figure it out but the wife gets a god laugh when it squeaks.

it sounds like a lubrication problem. is the console very dirty?

I didn't hear anything...could be my ears but the government says they're worthy of being a fighter pilot so...

Mine squeaks like a duck every day. It didn't really bother me until I had some coworkers in the truck on the way to one of our locations, then to lunch, and then back again.

That really depends on what two parts are causing the squeak e.g., metal on metal, plastics... I'd likely use WD-40 on rusty metal or White lube on plastics. Just find the squeak first, and then you can determine how to approach it!

Yessir. I ended up just using Super Lube PTFE spray on everything.

The squeak comes from a metal detent strip on the lower rear side of the shift mechanism. Its held into the lower console with 1 philips screw and provides tension/positive stops for each gear selection (doesnt serve much purpose other than "positive stop feel"). I have tried to grease this part but the way it functions it will eventually just push/scrape all the grease back out. The way that seems to have permanently fixed mine was to just gently bend that steel strip back just enough to where it was still contacting but with less pressure. Still works and feels just like it always has just without the annoying squeak. I dont have any pictures but if someone needs more info I can probably take the console apart again and take one.
