Stock as in the original springs or did you get new or aftermarket (stock spec) springs?

I know the height of the vehicle didn't change did it? I'm thinking of replacing struts/springs on front and shocks/springs on the rear to restore the height and better performance. Looks like about $500 in just parts, I hope that helps but I certainly need a better ride and would like a bit of a lift.

I have these shocks on the rear as well. I believe the part number is actually KG54317 instead of 45317.

Height shouldn't have changed since he reused the springs.

That's what I thought, but I'm going to replace the springs so I should get a bit of a lift.

Another question, if I get new front struts and coils - can I (using a coil compressor) put them together at home with all the parts that come in the box and install them later with a lift? I think it'd be easier to do that instead on trying to do it all at the same time.

I don't think you can. You might need to use the top plate that holds the struts and coils in place.

You can but then you have to buy another upper spring seat as well.
 
All ordered last night, I ordered rear shocks/springs and front struts/coils. I hope to install next week, but time is hard to come by. I'll keep everyone informed and post before and after pics.
 
Well I finished putting in the front struts and all I can say is wow. Completely different ride. I took it over rippled pavement, pot holes, man holes and it was like they were barely there.

Cornering? It took a nice mountain twisty road up to my in laws and was cruising 5-10 mph faster because the suspension was so smooth and firm.

These KYBs were worth the money spent so far. I never new how crappy my struts were until I replaced them. My wife was happy and impressed as well.

So glad to hear that, I bought the same struts and going to put them on Friday, I'm replacing Coils as well just because why not? I know they're the original and might as well do it while I'm there. Any words of wisdom?
 
Prelube the top bolts on all the struts. Mark the coils to the top bolts on the fronts to make aligning easier. The MVP tool to have is an impact wrench. And watch Speedy's suspension video on YouTube. Helped me out immensely.

So just a quick update on the ride quality almost 3 months later. Still rides nice and that includes towing my 3500# pup on several camping trips. I can only imagine how much worse the ride would have been if I hadn't done this ahead of time.
 
I used gas adjusts on my 98 for about 75K miles and they still felt great. I have them on my 02 sr5, very pleased and will be putting them on my 01 limited very soon. A great affordable upgrade.
 
What kind of coils is everyone going with and where they being bought from? How much? I seen a post stating to stay away from MOOG's. Any reason why?
