I'd keep the Trail personally
Didn't read every post so sorry if already mentioned. But if you are completely happy with your 2011, know exactly what it's been through and it hasn't given you any problems, I would consider keeping it. Plenty of years left and the longer you keep, the more valuable it becomes in terms of your average annual ownership cost. That's just my own style though, I like keeping good vehicles that have treated me well as long as possible.

Don't lose your ass and pay more money for almost the same damn thing you already have just because it looks slightly different.
Spend the money on some mods.
If I were buying another 4Runner right now, I'd probably get a Limited for the full time 4WD, but I'm not trading the one I have, I've sunk about 3500 into mods that someone else will get for free.

This, plus the fact that we might see a new generation of 4runner in 1-2 years. I would really regret buying another 5th gen if the 6th gen was right around the corner.

Seeing that we have no idea what the 6th gen will be like, it can cut both ways. The 6th gen might come out and we might all think, "man, I'm glad I got a 5th gen when I could! I can't believe the 4runner is electric, uni-body, with a front-wheel drive option, and they all come with a third row seat that doesn't fold flat and shoots out your groceries when you open the trunk (they still haven't fixed this issue?)."
I say go for it. The handful of folks that call it a "bro" are on this forum...for you and the rest of the world it will be an awesome truck. And the color is sweet!

This is not liking, this is more like obsessed with it. I was watching one for sale on ebaymotors.com with reserve 42k brand new and it did to reach over 41k. ( MSRP was like 43,5xx) But hey this is very subjective and if the OP likes it take it. Seems to be the only 4Runner they have on the lot anyways.

i personally prefer the 10-13 Trail design. that aside, you've already got a rear locker and literally every other base functional feature of the Pro—plus KDSS and a moonroof.
so the question is basically whether to give up KDSS and the moonroof (and mileage to date) and spend $15k for Bilsteins, 7" wheels, a skid plate, floor mats, and a paintjob? for me, that's a hell no.
i'd rather spend that cash picking exactly what i wanted to build exactly what i want. in the end, you'll have a vehicle that's leagues beyond the Pro.
however, if you intend to trade-in or sell your '11 sometime soon anyway, my approach sucks and you should either sit tight or take the deal if it's worth it to you.
