Shrockworks bumper finally received!!!

So I got a welcomed call from my body shop this am that they finally got the 05 winch bumper from UPS freight today. I ordered it as part of the group buy 11FEB.

Anyways I have an 05 sr5 and it is replacing the Damaged stock bumper, I got it with center hoop and lead light guards, no lift, directional lights and PIAA 510 fogs in bumper, PIAA 580 driving on top of bumper and the 2 shackles, no winch, and front license plate required in NJ.

So any tips or things I should explain to body shop. They have never done a shrockworks but have done after maker bumpers on toyotas.

Also I want to use the PIAA switches for fog and driving lights but obviously the factory direction lights hook ups. Any suggestions on where to mount the fog and driving light switches? I was thinking the blank switches on lower left dash by the fuse box or the center console switches by the downhill assist switch?

Well, For what little I know the arb was the only other option I had plus on the group buy I got 15% off. When I found out the discount I opted for every bell & whistle I could get cus no one was giving me 15% off on two sets of lights and I really like the look of the bumper having seen one at work.

It has been a long time though!
The fabrication times are closer to 6 weeks now from talking to mark at shrockworks.

Actually I paid half on 11feb and the other half when it went to get powder coated. Will post pics wed eve after the install that am. Here's how it looks now and mind u factory fogs are not functional now.

The bumper should come with install instruction.

I put the PIAA switched next to the ignition switch. Its just a temp place until I get the FJ fog light switch. I'd prefer the OEM look.

There's an additional 10% off for taking longer than 4 months if you we're part of the group buy that Ride organized. Be sure you ask for it; I needed to remind them but they were quite gracious about it and gave it to me.

I would use the existing switch (on steering column) for the fogs and save your limited OEM slots for other lights that you might normally use independent of your headlights. Just a thought.

Though my new issue is I dropped the truck off at 8am Tuesday and they commented on hoping it doesn't take 6 hours... It's been 45.5 hours and every time I call the guy doing it is not there but after I drove by after work the truck/shipping crate were untouched! So much for going to a body shop.

Now I'm waiting till they open to figure out where to take it and how to get it there as I don't think it will fit in my truck

God I miss Vegas and 4wheel parts stores everywhere!

If you fold you seats down and pull the bumper out of the crate, you can load up the bumper and all the parts included in your 4Runner. We do it here at the shop for our local pick-ups all the time.

We have some lengthy lead times I can admit, but for an order placed in February to just be arriving didnt sound right at all. After looking into the order, it looks like the order was ready by the original due date but didnt ship due to a remaining balance that was pushed back a couple of times. We gave that particular group buy top priority when it was placed and tried extremely hard to keep inside the promised date. A couple might have slipped through, but it looks like this order was a bit of an exception.

Well went back to body shop and I guess they had to call Shrockworks to find out about reaming holes (I don't know what that means) so all is well, getting installed Tuesday am for $300.

This body shop might be pulling a fast one on you, we didnt get any tech calls today. The only produts of ours that require any reaming are our tire carriers which is something our guys do during assembling the products.

All things aside, I'm sure the bumper will be everything you've been expecting once you get your truck back. Enjoy!

If u designed the 4th gen bumper, congrats! I love my truck now more than I ever have! In two days i have had many people in parking lots asking me about that badass piece of metal on my front end!

Any recs on wax/polishes to keep bugs and road grime from sticking to it?

1. It cost me a bit more than a thousand, then you made me wait. Then I had to get it installed which meant another day down.
2. ... fog lights, PIAA 510's, so there's a few hundred more.
3. ... driving lights, LED's so a few hundred more.
4. ... winch, more money.
5. ... clevis shackles, black, so that cost more money (ugh, your gallery...)
6. ... fairing lead (powder coated black of course, so more money)
7. ... Amsteel (blue) rope, instead of 3/8" steel cable
8. ... stock skid plate looks crappy, so I went with an order from Budbuilt
9. ... winch + weight of the bumper + skid plate are going to be a bit heavy, so larger front springs (OME 886)
10. ... new springs, a better pair of shocks - oh wait, I have X-REAS. Sigh, Bilsteins or OME

Do you see the problem? You guys are like peddling crack. If I am lucky, I'll have money for Christmas presents. Heck, I need new tires for winter!!!

The only thing stopping me from picking up the sliders is that mine are a) still functional and b) limited come lit. Oh yeah, and if you folks ever make a rear bumper (please?!?!?!?!?!?!) that'll be more money down.

I cant take credit for the 4th gen front, that was our previous designer. But yeah, it totally changes the attitude of that truck. Thanks!

If we could figure out how to peddle crack along with our product to make it slightly more additcting, we would! We'd have folks ordering 5 and 6 of the same bumper. Unfortunatly we havent figured any means of doing so without ending up behind bars.
