To all of you that have already installed. Please, please, please post the installation instructions or PM me for email address so you can send them to me. I would really appreciate it.
Here's a link to some discussion on the install http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/101257-behold-shrockworks-winch-bumper-3.html
But more discussion would be great
I just got the call that mine is being delivered and am excited to have it installed. My question to the guys that installed it: I'd like to add a winch but don't want to spend the money now (just got a house). Is it really difficult to add a winch down the road? Or should I buy a cheaper winch now (I doubt I'm going to use it very much but would like to have it) to put it on during bumper install. Your thoughts?
First install is a pain to get it all aligned correctly. Taking it off/on after that is much easier.I just got the call that mine is being delivered and am excited to have it installed. Looking forward to seeing the final result and learning more about the install. When did you order yours? I ask b/c that should give me a good idea of when to expect mine (ordered Feb 18th)
I got my bumper today and the instructions from SW aren't the best. I tried using a Haines manual in conjunction with SW's instructions, but it's still been pretty difficult to decipher; however, it should be noted, that this is the first time I'm attempting to install a bumper by myself. Some steps just require some logical deduction. Iat this point, the hardest part has been ensuring that I've taken all the necessary steps with the removal of my stock equipment. I called SW and asked them to email me a color version of the installation instructions...that helped some. If any of you guys would like me to mail you a colored version let me know.
I tired e-mailing you the instructions three times to the provided account with not lluck. So, I'll just attach them to this...I hope, for all to have access to...
Stay safe!
Griff
Awesome thank you! It would've helped if I spelled my name correctly when I wrote my email hahaha I appreciate it!
Yea, that would have been helpful haha.
I got all of the oem parts off and the new bumper brackets mounted. All I have left is to install the blinker lights, put the bumper on, wire the lights and add the splash guards. The one area that I ran into some issues was re-locating the a/c bracket. That took a liitke figuring out; plus I broke a bolt which turned into a huge hassle. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm no expert by any means, but hopefully the extraneous effort/time/thought I wasted on certain areas can be put to good use by someone else.
Griff, I should get mine in a couple months and might have to hit you up for some pointers as well! Thanks for the tips.
