has anyone else ordered a shrockworks bumper?
i ordered mine back in may and have yet to see it, they keep saying there are production delays but i called the other day and the say itll finally ship the beginning of december, after over 6 months of waiting!!

but in the meantime i did some more mods, i did the OME suspension, AFE stage 2 intake, picked up a hilift extreme and attached it to my roof rack, spidertrax spacers, added another pair of piaa 520s to my rack and i think im gonna pick up a yellowtop optima battery this week, id say 4 years of life on a stock battery is plent, dont ya think??

I have been waiting since June. The delay is unacceptable. I have talked to Kevin a couple of times, he's nice but enough is enough. I cant believe all these excuses.

:iagree: enough is enough. I've been dying to see what your rig will look like with that bumper since June. lol. You better post pics!

You havnt paid for the bumper yet, right?

I'm sorry to hear you haven't received your bull bar yet. But when you do, you will love it!!! I thought mine took a while. I am grateful that I got it within 3 months. I do think they should not take the full amount and hold your money. I understand they have to pay for the steel, staff and overhead but they should only a non-refundable deposit of 50% or something.

The upside is...their bull bar rocks!!! I was up in the eastern sierras this weekend and got asked about it several times. Even a guy with an Xterra :) I still have to work on the pics from the trip and I'll post them up here soon. Hope you get your bull bar ASAP!!!

Hopefully with all that delay they get it right and there are no issues with workmanship and that sort of thing...

Not defending them, but always factor in "fabber time," and they did have a major hurricane down there. Their product IS worth the wait. Nick is over on Toyota120 a lot. Perhaps post your vexation over there too.

Josh,
I heard from Kevin. He stated the delay is still because of the brackets. Did you get the same information from them?

That is so disheartening to hear. I sure hope they do right by you. They were great with my bumper, but that was last year. Have you tried talking to Jim (calmly) and asking him for a refund or even mentioned cancelling? I hate to say that but heck if I was out that kind of money for almost a year I would have probably filed a dispute with my credit card company by now. I sure hope they fix this soon for you!!!

I will be having that conversation with them shortly.

When I was working in a "made to order" shop, I know very well that orders weren't running in production, I have no idea like 2 wks, 3 wks or months. When the company budget went crazy, we accept advance payment from say 1000 customers, the company used the money to pay bills, deficits, weekly employee salary etc..until another 1000 customers will order and pay, thats the time the customer's materials will start running into production...yes, I lied to customers ...resigned weeks later. They were accepting orders and I knew that most of the skillfull employees were then laid off..Later..they sold the company.

I just hope that they are really doing the best for your orders, and maybe too busy coz there are many to custom build..

If I'm in that situation, I won't cancel, but I'll get my money back. Until they can show an invoice and is ready for shipment then I'll pay. And theres no reason for them not to trust me, after holding my money for that long time:)

Weight of OEM bumpers and stock suspension

Guys, good luck in getting your bumpers.

I will be interested to see if you have to upgrade your suspension to something heavier after you install, due to the increased weight.

I put a steel ARB bar with a winch on a Nissan GQ Patrol I used to own, when I lived in Australia - then I had to replace both front and back suspension systems to keep it driving straight, with the increase in weight.

Let us know how you fare with the 4R

good luck

Joe

Already thought about that, so I already upgraded my suspension with the bumper in mind

I hope you got good advise before you spent the money

I would probably have put the bar (+ winch) on first and seen how it drives. (but thats just me)

I dont know who gave you advise, I just hope it was good.

If you do get into problems, I know a really great off road race shop in the Tracey/Livermore area, they specifically build baja race trucks and pre-runners there (the trucks that carry the spares for baja racers). They can fabricate just about anything on site and they do build outs on all sorts of Jeeps, 4X4 trucks. Just about anything you can think of off road, they do, design, build, buy in kits and install.

John Deets owns the place its on altamont pass rd

all the best

I went with a old man emu setup and when I ordered it they gave me the setup that would work for having a Schrockworks bumper and being that I tow often, so we'll see right- that is if that bumper ever freaking comes!!!
