I had my sliders delivered yesterday, but they aren't exactly what I ordered... I ordered the 3rd gen sliders with the 3rd tube support. I then emailed Shrockworks asking about adding treadplates but being able to keep the upward angle on the sliders. They said they couldn't do that so I said to leave my order as is. I got my sliders and they don't have the upward angle and have the treadplates on them... I didn't pay for this, so I essentially got the more expensive option for free, but I'm not sure that's what I wanted. I guess I'll have to hold them up to the 4Runner this weekend and see if I want to keep the ones I got or call them and see about getting exactly what I ordered...

Actually I just looked at my credit card statement online and I got charged for the treadplates. Not too happy about that.

I looked back at our email history and it looks like you're right. You were just asking IF it was possible to add the dimpled tread plates and I went ahead and added them. I see an email from you later on in the day saying to leave the order as is. If you want to swap them out, I'm happy to do so and refund the difference. Just let me know. Sorry for the mix up.

I received and installed my slider-steps last night. I'm very happy with the fit and finish! Thanks again Jicko for letting me in to the group buy and thanks Shrockworks for a good product!
I hit the stick nuts with rattle can rust oleum before install. I had some trouble with the rear passenger side getting the stick nuts placed and threaded. The driver's side ended up being the easier side. I had almost no gas in the tank, which I think made all the difference in getting gas tank bolt back in. Overall, including the rattle can, it took about 4-hours to install.

Thanks for the response, no hard feelings. The quality of them is outstanding, I'm gonna hold them up to the 4Runner this weekend hopefully if I get a chance and see if I want to stick with these or get a set of the regular ones. Thanks again.

Another trick is to pin the strap to the gas tank by using a jack and putting a socket through the hole in the gas tank skid. I did this and had no problems doing the install with 3/4 tank. See this post for more details.

Mocked my sliders up this morning and decided I am going to keep the ones with the tread plates. I found a guy locally here who is going to powdercoat them for $40! I figure even if it isn't perfect $40 is a steal, that's what I would have spent on paint and it wouldn't have come out perfect either. This way I don't have to deal with painting when it's 97* outside with a heat index approaching 110* as well...

I received the rock slides and TE trim last week and started the installation this weekend. Shrockworks definitely did a good job in packaging the material.
I had to tackle the rocker trim first as the LE trim hung too low for the slider install, but got stuck when one of the jack nuts in the trim hardware kit couldn't be used (likely manufacturing defect)... contacted Shrockworks for additional hardware, still waiting for reply (just PMed [MENTION=102293]mark@shrockworks[/MENTION] as well).
The side that I did install looks good. The trim is made of a piece of bent steel (came powder coated) with the steel bent around the edge of the truck affording some protection. I'll tell you that even with the trim itself, it felt like the truck already had much more protection than the stock trim!

Installed my 3rd gen rear bumper, looks great. The 3/4" gap between the top of the bumper and body is a little more than i was hoping for. My muffler is rattling against the bottom of the bumper wing. Going to see if i can adjust the muffler at all.

THIS POST COMES A LITTLE LATE, WELL A LOT LATE.
I was part of the spring group buy and I purchased a set of the rocksliders. Within a week most of the little crevasses began to show rust. The powder coating had not made its way to the deepest parts. SHROCKWORKS offered to either pay for a local powder coating company of my choice to redo it and pick up the bill or I could send them back and have them recoated. I didn't want to get another company involved and have further problems. I just wanted to deal with the original manufacturer. They obliged me by sending me a new set per my request. That way I could reuse the packaging to send the original set back. Before I could unbox, uninstall and reinstall the new set, my house flooded in the torrential rain storm that occurred Oct. 4th. We had to move out and basically replace our entire 1st floor. 3 months later I'm finally getting their set back. They have been extremely patient, understanding and wonderful. SHROCKWORKS IS WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AT ITS BEST!!!! Thank you SHROCKWORKS. A great product and a great company that stands behind it.

That sucks, I hope I don't have that issue with mine. I had my powdercoating done after I got them at a local place. Maybe it has something to do with the textured powdercoating being to big to get into those gaps?
I rattle caned mine on top of self etching primer. It doesn't look as nice but mine have already taken a few hits. I am super pleased with the product, the shipping timing sucked. I had time off for a trip right before I got them.

After a little hiccup at the border the sliders arrived last week and were bolted on this weekend.
As has been mentioned before, the way shrockworks packages the sliders for shipping is itself impressive. I got the non-textured powdercoat and the finish is excellent.
I read through one or two of the install threads so I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting into.
If you're doing this alone and have jack stands around it makes it super easy. I also see a couple people have used the box they came in to hold them into place which does the same thing. Took me about 3 hours.
I also took the advice of running down the gas tank and had maybe 40 miles of gas left. It made the gas tank strap super easy to deal with. I also removed the gas tank skid bolt next to the rear wheel to make it a little easier to get the socket on the strap bolt.
Finally, the much loved stick nuts. Best advice I read on these is that when you get frustrated just leave it alone, have a beer, and come back to it. They're tricky, but you'll get the hang of it even it requires a bit of persistence.
All in all, very pleased with the sliders. The fit is perfect and the install was relatively painless. Needless to say they look great as well. Now to get them all muddy and scratched!
