Picked em up! Now just gotta run my gas tank close to dry so I can install these!

When working with the gas tank it is easier if you use a jack to raise/lower the tank.

Also - my sliders are drying from the first coat of paint right now. Hope to have them on by the end of the week.

From a technical writing view point -

When you say "this week" you are not giving a clear designation in time other than "this week". There is a lot of week to this week and considering how vague the communication has been on the rest of this group buy it is understandable. The vast majority of other group buys have a set cut off date, a minimum number of orders posted for the GB to work and such. This one had none of that. Honestly I figured it was a hose job initially because it lacked so many details that make it worth while. I do not know how many of us have the extra $400 and up to leave locked up for months on end while you get this little group buy thing done.

So just incase I was not clear enough - the communication in this GB has been substandard in my opinion. I am glad it is happening; but since I am just getting a set of sliders it is not like I am saving a small mint or anything.

As a second thought - considering how many different types of classified threads have strict guidelines in order to be posted I am surprised there are not any guidelines for these GBs. Some of these posted with lots of info and some of these are very shady posted that seem more like we are buying stuff that is going out the back door of the warehouse. I understand I am new to this forum; but I have been around on forums since 2005 and been doing GBs for almost as long.

Guess my polite and constructive criticism is not welcome. People tend to not do well when their is as much vagueness as is common in the GBs. A little clearer and better communication is all I am saying - don't like it? Don't care.




Like I said in my post; I've done a few of these with bigger companies than SchrokWorks on forums before. You might want to get some knee pads if you are going to go that route.

Got my stuff installed today after picking it up from powdercoating yesterday. Couldn't be happier with the product. Thanks for another great GB Jicko! I love saving money and getting cool stuff like this for my truck!

If those are for the 3rd Gens I can scan and email you the instructions that came with mine. They are pretty much - line up the front brace with the back of the trans cross member, mark holes, drill holes, use new holes for mounting. There is one hole on the bottom and use the top hole in the brace.

Updated: Sliders mounted. I ended up borrowing a right angle drill adapter from work to make drilling the top hole much easier.

Updated: Sliders mounted. I ended up borrowing a right angle drill adapter from work to make drilling the top hole much easier.

I actuay did not even think about the skid plate when I picked the color. I decided on a flat silver for any body armor a while back. It looks good in contrast to the black.

Got the sliders installed.
I had to use WAY more stick bolts than the instructions implied. And I had to grind the edges of the sticks down to get them to fit in the holes in the frame. It was a headache, but it looks great.

****And to those who said the sliders are no good as steps you're wrong. Completely wrong. My 4-year-old's life has been altered. She can get into the car by herself. Also love the fact I can stand on them to load the roof rack. They're perfect, and don't stick out too far like the regular steps.

I also opted for the Shrockworks Trim/Rocker panel. They look great, and were very easy to install.

Ditto on the install. I purchased the zero angle treads. Very happy with them.
