Shrockworks Sliders - Delivery Time

I know that Shrockworks is famous for the slow turn around time but quality products.

I decided to order my 5th Gen Rock Sliders from them because of the quality and still waiting for it to be shipped. I am a fairly patient person but I am wondering when everyone else has ordered. Post here when you ordered and when it was delivered if it has.


ORDER DATE: September 20, 2010
DELIVERED: Still waiting...
NOTES: Contacted them about 4 times now each with different delievery dates.


I am making this post because the Group Buy for Shrockworks that ended Dec 31, 2010 will be probably receiving their products before I receive mine and they received a 12% discount with 8 week turn around time.

Sorry to hear. My experience was quite different:

ORDERED: 8/13/10
DELIVERED: 9/2/10

NOTES: Contacted them once, they are supposed to ship this week. Only time will tell..

If the Group Buy gets any of their units before I get mine, I will cancel my order. That's bad business.
 
I didn't order sliders but I placed an order for a bumper in early October. I am still waiting. I called them last week and they said it would arrive anytime between the middle of February through early march. Seems like a long time to wait but I like the look of their product. Hopefully its worth the wait.
 
They don't make them to individual orders.Shrockworks builds in lots of 10 ,15, 20 or whatever. They don't or at least they didn't cut their own steel so they send in an order to have all the pieces laser cut .When they get it in they weld up a bunch of sliders or bumpers and then send the whole lot for powder coating.Then they ship them out in the order that they were ordered.

I was the second 5th Gen to get them and it took a good 4-5 months as they were fitting the prototype TE on the first one. I'm a pretty patient person and even I was getting antzy and had words with Jim,threatening to cancel my order after repeated calls. He said ,I'm sorry, no problem, I'll give you your money back if that's what you want to do" as he is an honest guy and nice to boot.When I finally recieved mine some people that ordered a week or two before got theirs a couple of days after I got mine, so go figure.

Probably not the best business plan to follow but they keep selling them and are always swamped with orders so I guess it works for them. They sell for all kinds of offroad vehicles and not only Toyotas either.There are people reported waiting 9 months to a year to get a SW bumper.

All said and done ,I love mine, they have held up great, and the only complaint was the long wait time.

Sorry to hear of your experience. My buddy designs and markets coil spacers for Tacomas, 4Runners, Tundras + a few other vehicles and had the same problem with distribution. He outsourced the cutting of the metal and as a result had a slow ship time. It hurt his business severely and it appears it's doing the same to this company.

That's a long wait for just sliders. They operate basically a batch system, where they make one product for a week or two then switch to the next. IF you ordered yours right after they got done with a batch of 5th gen sliders then that is why it is taking so long. They do have quality products but it really is quite annoying to wait that long for something, they really need to work on speeding up there turnaround time. It took 19 weeks for me to get my bumper, but sliders are not really supposed to have more than an 8 week turnaround. I had the same issue with calling them and they would say 12 weeks and then 13 and then 15 and then, and then..... call them again and sound irritated, maybe that will help. You will be very happy with the product once you get it though, no doubt.
 
I think Jim might have the wait time problems fixed. Ordered my bumper on 10-29-10, shipped on 02-28-11, delivered and installed today, 12 weeks almost to the day. I was told 8-12 weeks to start, so I am quite happy.
 
Ordered mine on October 11th .. finally arrived today!

That's 16 weeks but they came extremely well packed/padded. They made the long trip up here to Calgary unscathed and they're BEE-UTE-I-FULL!
 
Ordered my custom step sliders on 07 October 2010, now I got a FEDEX tracking number with an estimated date of delivery 02 February 2011. Can't wait to see them on my door steps:biggrin2: and see what they look like:wink2: Mine is flat and not the 30* cantilever with metal plates on top to serve as a step board.
