Hey everyone I just installed my Sylvania Silverstars earlier and just wanted to post some pictures. I havent found any pictures really that showed the diffrence between stock bulbs and Silverstars so here is a comparison on mine for anyone who is thinking of taking the plunge.. I do have to say I was pretty happy with the overall look!!

(Top) Headlights with Silverstars
(Bottom) Regular Halogen Fogs

those look nice they don't look dull like stock
I'm a noob to this site and I'm assuming
that the silverstars will give my 4runner that
"H.I.D look" without breaking the bank? Or is
it just the color change I'm going to get

I had them in my last 2 trucks. Nice white lights. I was not going for an HID look just a whiter light. They do just that. Although I went through quite a few sets because they never lasted long. I had them in my fogs too. The 4R I just left stock heads/fogs in.

They have new ones out called Silverstar Ultra's , I dont know the story on those , or what the difference is.

Silverstar Ultras are supposed to brighter and last 40% longer, which is good b/c my silverstars burnt out in under 1 year (with DRL). Do the ultras come in a sealed beam does anyone know?

I have the Ultras in my low beams currently, they're slightly whiter than the original silverstars and only minimally brighter. My original silverstars lasted 2 years, which is pretty good based on other's experiences. I still have a set of the non-ultra silverstars in my fogs.

I have had a set of original Silvers in my truck for over two years now and I also had them in the fogs and while they really perform in the dry but they are just so-so when the pavement is wet and very dark and the whiter light works against you in the rain and snow. I recently just installed a set of Hella Yellowstars in my fogs and that helped alot. I will be going to a set of the Ultras when the regualr ones go.

I was running Silverstar Ultra high and low beams but they would not last longer than 6 months. I went through 3 low beam bulbs in 1.5 years so I went back to stock. I have not replaced a stock bulb yet! Just my experience.

I have one ultra and one "unleaded" silverstar on my lowbeams. I really can't tell a difference to tell you the truth.

DRLs will eat up the Silverstars, one of the reasons I'd disable them.
The DRLs in my 06 dosn't use the headlights, only the orange marker lights. In my 01 Tundra it did use the low beams at a lower output for the DRLs which I decided to disable.
