Smittybilt Overland XL RTT - Fitment?

I’m looking at getting an Overland XL RTT or similar large 4-person RTT. Any running one with input on whether it would be too large for a 4Runner? I assume the sun roof will be covered, but I need access to the back door for sure. Looks like the XL is ~75in long. Can it be mounted far enough forward to access the back?

I’ll probable get some aftermarket cross bars to mount the tent.

I'm considering an XL also but still have the factory rails. Did you end up getting one? Do you have any pictures that show how far back it sits?

I have the prinsu roof rack and it takes up the whole thing but about a foot of it. I also know a guy that has one mounted to the factory roof rack with the hardware you get from smittybuilt no problem.

Mount it to the rails and not the crossbars and it should be fine.

I have the Tepui Kukanam 4p tent.

Originally mounted it on the stock bars (added 2 more for some additional stability)...it creaked and sagged and swayed more than my liking. I guess I could have mounted it perpendicular on the rails, but I ended up just getting a rack from Sherpa and it sits much better.

It does hang over the sunroof about 60-75% if you have it as far back as possible without interfering with the tailgate, but it doesn't impede its operation.
