Okay for starters I'm new hear so help around this site would help me greatly. Anyway I have a 2006 4Runner SR5 with the 1GRFE V-6. I haven't really modded my SUV cause my cash was tight. Now I saw a Volant snorkel on a tundra and wondered if that was available on my SUV. Can anyone help? :awais: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2935517

Unless you are planning on some serious water crossings or driving through some major sandstorms, it is just a very expensive bug catcher which requires a big hole in the front fender.

I have two reasons for wanting a snorkel. 1 I think it looks cool. (I'll add stuff like 4 PIAA lights on the roof and a grill guard with a winch and two PIAA lights on that. No lift or after market rims. I will like how it looks.) 2 there is a creek by my house that me and my friends go off-roading in. I love the 4Runner because it looks good and has high ground clearence. Weird enough that my SUV is 2wd. I'm just trying to find a snorkel because Safari Snorkel doesn't make one.

Before you spend $$$$ on a snorkel, you may want to spend $20 to extend your rear axle breather tube first: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=123

Thanks I'll probably do that within a few weeks. All I have to do now is find a company that will carry a snorkel for my 4Runner. Wonder if the new valve can withstand donuts!

I know I might get kicked off this Forum for asking this but does anyone know about a Toyota Prado 120? I know this is a 4Runner site but this Toyota Prado uses the same 1GRFE V-6 in my 4Runner. Safari makes a snorkel for the Prado, but no the 4Runner. The FJ and Tacoma also use the same V-6, but I am concerned about the engine bay, fender, and B-pillar layouts for attaching the snorkel. I just wondering if I could use a Snorkel from one of these trucks and mount it on my SUV and not have any problems. Can anyone offer advice?

The Prado 120 body work is almost identical to the Lexus GX470. Find one of those to look at to compare the fender and A-pillar shape with your 4Runner, that should help you decide if the Prado Safari snorkel will fit.

One member did it using this combination, plus a little extra work to make it all fit. I'm sure there are alternatives, it will take a little research to find out what works best for u.

I would like to thank all that have responded to my pea's and questions! I think I can make it all fit after reading some of the dimensions of all cars. And Some cash. I have about a grand to spend on my SUV. I'll buy the axle valve first, then move to the snorkel. I might have to have some help making it go on the 4Runner though due to the drilling and mounting. :D I still might need some help so any comments or experiences are both welcomed and appreciated!
