I've got my sights set on a 4th gen 4x4 V8. They seem hard to come buy in Central Texas. Even in the Dallas or Houston area they seem to sell very quickly. A few new listings I have called on were already off the market because a buyer from out of state had already put a deposit down.
Well one came up in the Houston area just today. Toyota Dealer. 2008 Sport Edition. 112k Miles. Looks to be in good condition except for the drivers seat leather which is obviously worn. PO must have been a big dude. Two owners. First owner always serviced at dealer, second owner who purchased around 60k must have got it serviced elsewhere as there are no records since then.
I asked about the timing belt and they said it has not been done. And that the 90k interval is only a recommendation. Well now its 20k+ miles past the recommendation. I asked if they could work on the price to take that into consideration, or get it done at their dealership for a discount, but they dont seem to want to budge. $15,400 is there price. Plus TTL of course.
I already have a deposit down so they are holding it. Should I pull the trigger? The others I have inquired about in the 90k-120k mileage don't seem to have had the timing belt replaced yet either.
Thanks for any help.
