So what's with the 2 different rear LCA's?

With all the axles I bought I have a bunch of rear LCA's lying around and I noticed there are two types, they have different bushings and one type has the axe-like thing on the end. What is that for and is it better?

the bottom one is the updated one. it allows for more flex and more comfortable ride.

please note that rear UCAs for 2WDs are shorter by about half an inch than those for 4WDs.
