It's designed that way to hopefully prevent the truck falling completely into a crevasse.

That is if it were actually used to drive over Glaciers, instead of for posing in Houston..

I watched a show a while back were they drove one of these in the antartic and they quickly realized the stock IFS could not handle those tires and the abuse. I can't remember if it broke off the control arm or spindle failed.

just watched part 1 and they so stupid, all the FAIL they had was because they dont know what they are doing. big tires big lift and stock IFS, no skids no protection, waiting for part 2 to download
