SoCal Newbie needing help

Recently bought a 2007 4Run Limited V/8 with exactly 100,301 miles on it when I took it home. All maintenance records were confirmed in Carfax and the dealer pulled the Toyota service records and gave me a copy. EVERYTHING looked great...BUT no record of the TB/WP being replaced. New tires, new brakes, tranny flush, brakes bled, pads changed every 20-25k, radiator flush, 15k, 30k, 60k, 75k services recorded and new brakes, tires and full service at 98k all recorded at local Toyota dealerships then traded at almost 100k exactly.

Anyone know a REALLY good local tech that can do this job? Can't afford to give more $$ to the dealer and don't think I have the mechanical skills to do it myself. I'm in SoCal near Pasadena and can go where ever it's necessary within reason to get: TB/WP, cam/crank seals, belts and pulleys replaced asap. I will bring all original Toyota parts to whomever does the work and it can be done at my home using my tools if necessary too. I just need a referall for a known and highly recommended local tech.

Thanks in advance!

No need to panic...you should be good until at least 120k. Look at buying a kit(often found on ebay) that has most of the parts you will need, such as the water pump, TB, tensioners, seals, etc. Do a search of these kits on this forum and you will find a lot of good info. :bigok:

Thanks RS Dude

I've done tons of reading here and have learned alot about my truck already. I am gonna get the parts ASAP and will be getting all original parts from the dealer so when I find the right person the parts are ready to go.

I can't afford the dealer labor rate, but feel like Toyota parts from the dealer are worth the extra cost. The dealer also agreed to give me a discount on the parts

Anyone HIGHLY EXPERIENCED AND local and want to make some extra cash?
