Soft lift?

I want a 2"-3" lift AND a soft/plush ride. Or a divorce lawyer, because the spousal unit didn't like the harsh rides I had on previous trucks (Bilstein and OME shocks). I'm ashamed to say that 99.999% of driving has been -and will likely be- on pavement. Mostly unloaded, no towing.
So I'm looking for the softest shocks I can find. Ride quality has priority over lift (anything over 1 inch will do). Any suggestions from personal experience?

Buy an Avalon.

My 4R has the absolute softest/soggiest/unstable ride of any vehicle I have ever owned. Softer than my '66 Chrysler Imperial that literally floated down the road like it was on the high seas. If your 4R isn't soft enough for your spouse, you're probably in the wrong vehicle.
 
King/fox 2.5s and have the stack custom made to be stupidly weak. Keep OEM rear springs and go with king 550 fronts.

Or like previously stated buy the correct vehicle
 
You need something with progressive rate such as Dobinsons. Mine rides like a boat and I like it.

Bilstein are digressive and will ride much firmer.

I have the Rough Country leveling kit - 2.5" front, 1" rear lift. Since they are spacers (front on top of strut), the ride is the same as OEM because there is no change to the OEM shocks or springs. Very soft which I really like when going over the rocks in my annual pilgrimage to Colorado.
 
Bilstein 6112 ride much better than stock. If you don’t like the mushy stock ride then you are in the wrong vehicle. To me, stock is too soft.

Why do I want another car? That's not helpful!

Ideally, I'd like to buy one of each: King/Fox/OME/Dobinson/etc and find which ride I like best. Obviously, not a realistic option.

Stock ride is not bad, and I have small spacers now, but I'd like a proper lift kit.

Adjustable shocks seem to be what I want, but if I can find a simpler=cheaper shock instead, I'd go that route. And I don't know how much difference one can feel after making all those adjustments.

This is where personal experience is priceless. To those who have contributed, thank you!

It looks like I need to find someone to build some Kings/Fox with the softest stack possible.
 
For a softer ride go progressive shocks versus digressive.

Elka, Kings, FOX.

Get adjusters for an even softer ride. They make a big difference when adjusting mine from soft to hard or back. Very happy with my decision.

Wish I never would have waisted my money on 6112’s and just went for the Kings or Elka’s.

I really like them. Much more comfortable and controlled at higher speeds with the resi’s turned up some than the previous setup I had of 6112 and Icon2.0. Much less jarring at slower speeds with the resi’s turned down. Washboard roads are still there but less noticeable. I’m typically going slower and that’s where I notice the biggest difference, no baja near me. Different price level, but what I have to compare to. Difference in progressive vs digressive.
